PALS-5 stands for Pan IIT Leadership Series. Launched in partnership with the PIAI, PALS-5 series has been conceived to add to the all-round standards of selected engineering colleges and management institutes in and around Chennai. Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering is one of the partner institutes of PALS-5. PALS-5 is designed to allow institutes like us to differentiate ourselves by investing in enhancing the exposure and knowledge of our students and faculty. To discuss on improving the Industry Institute interaction primarily on the key issues that includes applied research, entrepreneurship, latest developments, curriculum change, industry expectations, skill development etc., To provide an opportunity for both industry and academic to share their thoughts and ideas and the ways for preparing academic campuses to deliver high value industry relevant output. The inauguration of PALS-5 was held on 8th August 2015 at IC & SR Auditorium, IIT Madras Campus. Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras inaugurated the occasion. Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Dean - Planning & Development, Indian Overseas Chair Professor of Management, SASTRA University was the Chief Guest. Mr. K. Shanker, Director - Onshore/Overseas Business, Technip India Ltd. was the Guest of Honour. The theme of the session was Engineering the Environment. In the Inaugural Session, The Master of Ceremonies was done by Dr. Ashwin Mahalingam, Mr. Kalpathi Suresh, President, IIT Alumni Industry Interaction Center delivered the welcome address, Ms. N. Alamelu introduced the PALS-5, Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi delivered the inaugural address, Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam talked about the academic perspective of the theme and Mr. K. Shanker talked about the industry perspective of the theme and Mr. Gautham delivered the vote of thanks. |
