Design of Air Engine by Lab Instructor Mr.Elumalai R - Mechanical Engineering

Congratulations!!!! Department of Mechanical Engineering feels proud of Mr. Elumalai R, Inst./Thermal Lab. for designing an “Air Engine”, with the available Hero Honda two wheeler engine (four stroke S.I. engine). This engine uses atmospheric air as fuel, hence petroleum fuel is replaced. He made a major change in cam arrangement and adjusted the time of opening and closing of the inlet and exhaust valves. On 12 Oct, 2015 he demonstrated his engine to our beloved Chairman Dr. Ramanurthy V P. Chairman congratulated him and assured that the Management will provide fund for his further research in developing the air engine.
