Inauguration of Robotics Club of DCE on 11 Aug 2014 | |||||||||||||||||||
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering is proud to announce that students from DCE have stepped into the realm of Robotics. A group of students of DCE have started The Robotics Club of DCE, to spark interest in the minds of students in the field of Robotics. The Robotics club of DCE was inaugurated on 11/8/2014 in a grand manner, in the presence of the Chairman Dr.V.P.Ramamoorthy. Following the inauguration, the first workshop “Intermediate Arduino Robotics Workshop”, was conducted on 11/8/2014 and 12/8/2014 as a two-day session. This workshop introduced participants to basic principles in Robotics. The Robotics Club of DCE presented an innovative technique to learn robotics so that the students could have hands on training in making a robot. Participants received a take away kit which included experiments on micro controllers, driver ICs, basic electronic components like light dependent resistor, TSOP, LED interface board, Ultrasonic sensor and IR sensor. Participants actively made their own robots using the kits provided to them. They also learned to write their own robotic codes for multiple robots, using Arduino. The participants coded their own programs for Sony Protocol IR Controlled Bot, Photophobic, Phototropic, obstacle avoider, edge avoider, wall follower and many more. These help students start their thought process, walk them through their ideas and help them see their imagination run around in real. Many students are actively involved in developing their ideas and building robots out of them. The aim of the club is to produce projects on Robotics of high order, whenever possible. The club plans to conduct more workshops to educate students on the skills they need to develop. The main motive of the club is to guide students on any product they wish to develop related to robotics. The Robotics Club of DCE was started in association with an upcoming entrepreneurial firm called Haavani. Haavani has developed products not only in robotics but also in a wide range of other fields. Overall, The Robotics club of DCE is creating wonders and is committed to contributing much more in the field of robotics. Any student who has interest and idea on robotics is welcome. |
