DCE-FDP on Power Electronics, on 19 - 21 Jun 2014
The ultimate objective of this FDP is to encompass essential concepts in understanding the overview of different types of power semi-conductor devices and their switching characteristics. Also, to analyze the different modulation techniques, basic topologies of switching regulators, harmonic reduction methods, controllers and various types of converters. It is essential to realize and apply the concepts of power electronics for such applications range from low power converters applications to converters for high-voltage DC transmission systems, handling hundreds of MW.
